Practicing Taking Time

Update:

A short video of the painting below. I accidentally didn’t record the entire middle part, but it’s interesting to see where this started.

Tonight I spent some time with Haj, making music and painting. It was great to take a painting slowly, and truly lose attachment to the outcome. There was no time pressure, and lots of inspiration. Haj and Rhythmystical traded off with the music, and I worked alongside them. It seemed like we were both working back and forth.

I always work with music, and it was great to share a creative space with a few musicians. Haj’s home is very cozy too, and comfortable to let the mind and wacom pen wander.

I have a short video of this as well, but only managed to get parts of the process. I’ll post it soon anyway.

Great hanging with you guys last night and experiencing the creative process–your artwork is amazing. I did notice the background with the washes, really nice. You’ve inspired me to buy a tablet… :)
